The Swedish Energy Agency initiated the Network Oil and Gas
In 2001, the Swedish Energy Agency initiated the Network Oil and Gas, in short NOG. The general purpose of the network was to create a forum for the exchange of experiences and raise the level of knowledge around the issues of oil and gas. NOG´s main purpose is to provide a foundation for a wide debate in energy politics by putting focus on the importance of oil and gas for vital functions in the society. NOG is run by ÅF. In August 2008, NOG had about 600 members from energy companies, authorities and political organisations. NOG is financed by the Swedish Energy Agency, the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency and ÅFORSK.
